If those kids ever find themselves in a desperate situation armed only with a knife, they will know what to do with a frog if they find one. My kids would pick the frog up and carry it over to the water so that it wouldn't get hurt.

That's pretty much the scene at my house after frog gigging. But I use scissors and don't cut the heads off.
