It's not a 'bubble'... College sports, particularly football and basketball, are a festering zit, and have been for years.
I saw my first school sports program run amok, complete with steroid party favors, here in MA in 1970. I saw worse in CO in the middle 70s and idiocy in extremis when I moved to MO a few years later. Seriously, 40 years of this shit.
