Frankly, if he stopped when she asked him to it's not sexual harrassment; it's merely sexual advances.  Nothing wrong with those.

Some here have said that politics is a stone drag, but I absolutely LOVE and ADORE rapidly imploding candidates, as in laugh-out-loud happy. Why should I waste my time flaming one of you when I can make plain factual statements about Hermine Cain, the Herminebator? Can't get enough, and this is just wonderful!

Here in Osaka Prefecture we have a young cocky Governor who is deeply involved in some sort of massive Government real estate asset relocation business swap deal, and genuinely struggling with a huge revenue shortfall. Recently, the Mayor of Osaka thwarted a part of his deal, so he suddenly quit his job as Governor and is now, as an unemployed private citizen, standing for the mayoral election. You all have NO idea how much I am hoping for him to lose!

Seconded.  It's the reason that I don't really mind that campaign "season" keeps starting earlier and earlier.
I mean...look at this and don't at least chuckle--I dare ya:

For a Caucasian female to be alone at night with a kneegrow “colleague”, and have him reach into her skirt and force her head down into his crotch had to have been a horrifying experience.  Over 100 White women are raped or sexually assaulted by a kneegrow on any given day, and the thought that she was about to be one of the 100 raped (and possibly killed) that day must have crossed her mind at that moment.

People, let's get real here.  First, how many of you women have been in an office - with an executive - and have experienced anything even close to like what Herman Cain is accused of?   I mean, a blatant, "hand in your twat" approach?  I'm sorry, it's just not plausible.  Yeah, maybe suggestive statements, perhaps or even a hand on your back... but really... up your crotch?

Now Hermie may not be the best candidate, but do you actually believe this babe?  Did you see her reading the text of what she supposedly said?  Her 'reading' of her (alleged) own words was appallingly stiff.

I'm sorry, I just don't buy it.  This stinks of smear to high heaven, IMHO.  The whole thing plays on the old saw... 'you know them damn niggers... they always rapin" our white women' crap.

Sorry.  I don't like Hermie for Prez - I personally just don't think he's got the mettle to handle it - but this is a shitty game that they're playing to smear him.

I'm no fan of Herman Cain, but please provide basis for that statement.  After the madness of Tailhook and the 90's wore off it is acceptable for men to be attracted to women and make advances.  Repeated advances after rebuffal or basing the outcome on the womans career is the only basis for harrassment.  Claims are simply that, unproven claims.

Another "Allegation" that has sat undisturbed for decades, long considered to be unimportant right up until the moment that 60 minutes is willing to pay you $20 grand for an interview....

You are kidding, right?  The allegations, which include at least two out of court claims settled for around $80,000, "sat around" until the guy decided to seek the republican nomination for the presidency.

You can make a rational argument that the legal standard for sexual harassment has gotten too low, as Emm is arguing, but you cannot reasonably argue that the news media should stay mum on the subject.  The man wants to be president and has opened his history up for scrutiny.  The settlements are historical facts, and Cain has to deal with them.

As for accuser no. 4, it is a little more than a simple she-said-he-said.  She does have sworn declarations from 2 people she allegedly told shortly after the incident occurred.  If she is lying, she cooked up the basic story a long time ago.  If she is telling the truth, then either he made a very clumsy pass at her (one that bordered on assault) or he sexually harassed her as a condition of giving her a job -- you decide.

What I find most offensive is that in a certain quarter, running for the one executive post in the world that can most quickly and comprehensively fry all life is now considered just another book tour ploy. Fuck 'em all.

Cain's foreign policy expertise is on a par with Palin's "I could look over the Bering Straights and see Russia". Wasn't there something about "I don't care about something -stan"?

That said-

I harassed a coworker.  I wasn't in a position of power,  but was a mentor, a thing I take very, very seriously, but lost my head.  And she properly gobsmacked me by saying "I can't learn from you if you do that."

End of my blithering stupidity.  Right then and there. And I am still a mentor and we are friendly, but I was an asshole.

Cain could 'fess up and say he learned and won't do it again, but alpha males can't do that.

A thousand blessings on ya for 'fessing up to that, and a million more blessings for learning from it.  A lot of men don't seem to understand that women in the workplace won't condemn you for having feelings, or even for acting on those feelings, as long as you take no for an answer and aren't creepy about it afterwards.
I don't have to wonder if you are a better mentor for that experience.

I think most of us have done it to some extent at some point, it idea is to have proper manners and apologize for any perceived breach of protocol.

Well and of course to learn from the experience.

We've come a long way since Tailhook.

SOME alpha males can't. Those are the ones you smack in the crotch with a shovel when they're young.

Wish I could find the "hand-on-the-back-of-the-head photo" but I think when you hear this story you're supposed to think of Joe Pesce's character,Nicky, in Casino taking the showgirl out to his Mark IV for an "interview".

Turns out that the close female friend Extra Sausage Man has been 'helping financially' for thirteen years is unknown to Mrs. Cain. This story just gets better every day!

Hmmm...

So, if someone has tried very hard to never do this, do they get less props... or should one make a point of finding an opportunity to offend and then repent, as that makes one a better person?

Just sayin'.

It's good to know that Cain is so compassionate.  As Prez, I'm sure he will assist all of us in financial distress.  Perhaps without even telling Congress.
