Must be part of that whole streamlining-government-thing the Repubs are always going on about. Thank Palephoenix for this one.

Do they not realize that we tried an economy without regulation in the 19th century, and it was a goddamned disaster? Triangle shirtwaist factory, black lung killing people in their 30s, child labor and 80-hour work weeks? Surely they must be aware that just this week Massey Energy paid a $210 million settlement for the 29 miners that got killed PRECISELY BECAUSE THE COMPANY IGNORED REGULATIONS. Maybe they don't know--according to Rep. Poe, the only reason regulations exist is to give liberal homos a way to fuck with real Americans.
Jesus, it's like they're completely fucking unaware of the past.
"After Congress got rid of those job-killing regulations, I was able to find work. Just in time too--when dad got sucked into that sheet metal stamping machine, momma said I have to be the man of the house and help with our medical bills. Thank you, Republicans, for making America strong again by ignoring my basic humanity."

The Teatards are too stupid to realize that at some point in the future there will be a Republican president faced with a Democratic congress which would gleefully use this law against him!

I'm confused. Isn't the function of Congress to create the law to begin with? So they want to continue to pass stupid legislation, but veto it's execution?

That about captures it. They prefer to expand the current clusterfuck and enhance the disfunction.

Every time I see a guy waving a pamphlet in front of a whole shitload of American flags, I feel that much closer to the abyss......

Actually, fuck this noise. Never in our history have we had all aspects of the political spectrum, from ultra-liberal to uber-conservative, so coherently aligned against our own elected officials. How the fuck do these ass-dingles still get elected?
I bet it involves real housewives, big screens made in China, X-Box Wii systems and 20 piece nugget boxes. Oh, and the Kardashians.
