High-Street.Org marks its fifth year Saturday. The names and numbers have remained weirdly constant since cruel passed away. No legal problems - none, not a whisper - and not a single take down notice, knock on formica.

I never meant to cede the nicest street in my misbegotten home town to you loonies but it's probably not a bad fit. Both places are, as always, fucking nuts.

I'll be driving by (not too close) your home town on my way to the wilds of Maine later this week.  I'll crack a claw in honor of the street while there.

I believe this forum is a bit more like High Street in Oakland, CA.

Been there, walked its length and lived to understand what Gertrude Stein meant when she said there's no there there.

I've walked at least three High Streets I can think of.  None was worth going to again.  I've walked more streets high than High Streets.

This is the only place in the world where I feel comfortable posting naked, drunk, stoned, erect, unclean and profoundly gaseous. Video at 11:00.

You'll be the only one who feels comfortable.

I love High Street.  I love all you sick fucks.  You are more fun than a gerbil up Richard Gere's ass.  If I need to be taken down a peg or two, there is always one or two of you willing to take the task on.

Hats off to Choad, for providing safe harbour for all of us.

Cheers,
DD

Absolutely!  He's kept this open forum alive for five years, and I really appreciate that.

This town's High Street inhabits my earliest memories and is the exception to all the others I've encountered. Mostly 19th century residential, it boasts churches, doctors, lawyers, a hospital and no retail at all. I've walked its length late at night with my eyes closed.

Thank you Choad!  Someday when the Fnord Foundation for Internet Madness has funding you'll receive a grant to help with expenses.

OPSEC in Ogden: "What's the Ute?"

The caller simply said, "Leave goat man alone. He's done nothing wrong.'"

If I'm limited to only one regret here it's we've somehow offended away so many of the womenfolk who once ruled this nest.

If this place goes PC, I along with many others will be out the door.  If I can be a big boy and deal with being called a faggot and put down for being a racial separatist, they can deal with the insults that come their way.

You're right, if we had just tried a little bit harder we could have offended all of them away.

Naw, fuck 'em if they can't take a goddamn joke.

Realistically, though, feisty had to leave because she got a job in politics, and was worried about her browser history; headkick still stops by albeit extremely rarely; R_T likewise; I don't know what the FUCK happened to sofaking but I assume her life became busy.  Yes, I miss them too.
