Here's what gun people will say:

Guns are regulated in New York. This guy shot people in New York. Therefore it's useless to try to do anything whatsoever to prevent this kind of thing.

Please don't let this devolve into a gun argument again...

There is no gun argument - the Supreme Court has ruled add that to the fact that you can now print your own single shot gun on a cheap 3D printer in your garage. (good for only one shot but then again that's all you really need)

Story over.

What did you think it would turn into?

Why not? I've got a good feeling this one will turn out different.

Can we turn it into a police bashing thread instead?

The victim was Johnson's former coworker at Hazan Imports, where Johnson was a designer of women's accessories until being laid off last year.

As Johnson attempted to flee the scene, a construction worker across the street alerted two police officers, who pursued him up West 33rd Street, Kelly said. As Johnson pulled out a .45 caliber pistol, the officers opened fire, killing Johnson. It was unclear if Johnson managed to shoot a round.

Nine others were wounded or grazed in the exchange of gunfire, Kelly said. They were taken to local hospitals where they are expected to recover.

"Some may have been accidentally shot by police officers," Kelly said.

So Johnson killed the one person he went there to kill, then the cops shot the other 9, plus Johnson.

The Aristocats!

He was a designer of women's accessories?  Was he a member of the Pink Pistols, and when will they release a statement?

Worried you might need to find a different supplier for your unmentionables?

How can you have an exchange of gunfire if one side isn't shooting? By all means lets bash the police.

They surely deserve it this time.

The perp shot exactly one person.  The police shot the perp--and nine passersby.

There is video of police shooting the suspect.  Those cops need to be put on meter maid duty, they are no more than five or six feet away from him and he turns broadside on them and they miss with at least nine rounds?  That's some serious under training going on there.

Correction; They missed HIM with 9 rounds. They hit some bystanders.

Yeah, wait about twenty years for the poor kid to grow up into someone on a clock tower with a high-powered rifle and see how glad the administrators are that they pushed him to deny his name when he was three.
