But we really need to do something about the lingering smell of fish...

'Cat House' to Become Eatery, Bait Shop

A building overrun with wild cats will get a new life later this year as a combination seafood restaurant and bait and tackle shop. The wooden dwelling has come to be known as the "cat house," but a new owner plans to drop that moniker.

Fernando Messercola of Salem owns an Italian restaurant in Stafford Township. He has a summer home in Waretown and was inspired to open another dockside eatery after trips to the Barnegat municipal dock when he and his family were left without anywhere to eat or get fishing supplies.

Messercola said the patio would connect to the nearby boardwalk and municipal dock, where residents can fish and crab for $1 and dock their boats for the day for $5. But first, someone will need to relocate the cats. Messercola has agreed to give neighborhood caretakers two weeks' notice before starting construction. (source

At least he's not doing "Asian fusion."

Now if they would just add a sushi bar to the mix they would never have to throw out fish. Sushi -> deep fryer -> bait store -> cat food.
