Inouye was the kind of guy that, while I disagreed with nearly everything he stood for, still garnered my respect. I was doing fact checking for a legal-services publishing company when he ascended to the Appropriations committee. It wasn't 5 minutes before the pork started rolling in earnest into Hawaii. Like Byrd in West Virginia, that pimp made it RAIN dollar bills in the Sandwich Islands!
