Wonderful story. A little man fights the machine. And the machine will let him fight, because he's a funny little man, and his cause is plucky, whimsical and amusing, and because it makes the peasants feel momentarily like they have a funny little hero who just might count for something. But he doesn't, and they don't, and any real threat to corporate personhood will be painted red and summarily shot for treason.

Perhaps he should have let the corporation drive.  That way he wouldn't be faced with the $478 ticket.  Rest assured this is all about the personhood principle, not the money.  Carpool lanes were the brainchild of his liberal Marin County comrades in the first place.
