A November car chase ended in a "full blown-out" firefight, with glass and bullets flying, according to Cleveland police officers who described for investigators the chaotic scene at the end of the deadly 25-minute pursuit.

But when the smoky haze -- caused by rapid fire of nearly 140 bullets in less than 30 seconds -- dissipated, it soon became clear that more than a dozen officers had been firing at one another across a middle school parking lot in East Cleveland.

Good thing there weren't any "illegal" guns involved in that firefight...

How it's supposed to be done

Also: How to properly opt out of the justice system

It is best to stay off the streets when cops are looking for someone who has shot at a cop or killed one.  While looking for Dorner they shot up a pickup truck carrying two women who were delivering newspapers just because it was blue.  This should tell you that cops see phantom enemies and guns everywhere when they are under pressure.

They actually shot up two separate vehicles; it seems that they believe that their mission has changed from "Protect and Serve" to "Engage and Destroy by fire and maneuver".

Not sure when this change occurred (probably with the formation of the "Homeland Security Department") but this does not bode well for the future of our society.

Unfortunately, I believe this started when the first badge was pinned on a uniform.  Until recently the press gladly helped cover over the stink these incidents emitted.
