This article shows the actual crime scene. Kid was walking around with a very real looking replica AK-47. Also, when did cops start using soccer cones to mark crime scenes?

The only thing that can stop a good student with a fake gun is a bad cop with a real gun. Put down that needle, pass me the wood chipper!
So, how was the hike, BC?

Did he shoot at them with it? Did he charge the cruiser? 13 years old, there should be a way for trained law enforcement officers to take a toy away from a little child without emptying a clip and a half into him.
Side Note: Ga. section of the A.T. was fucking beautiful. Hiked from Springer Mountain to Neel Gap. Accidentally surprised 4 wild boar, those fuckers are huge and I was fortunate that they ran away as the only thing I had to defend myself with was curse words.( which I threw at them rapidly) I then fled north to Hot Springs to escape the (over hyped) tropical storm. Hiked 4 days there and then Damascus Va for a week and a half of the Va. Highlands.
Did you know there are wild ponies in Va.? I slept there under the stars and when I awoke the first thing I saw was a fucking pony. I checked my bag to see how much weed I smoked the night before but, not much, they were real.

Awesome, see above.
I felt a sense of loss when I walked off the trail and back to my vehicle to go home.

Glad you enjoyed the Georgia section of the AT. Just curious, were they proper wild boar or feral pigs? it's kinda hard to tell the difference when they are scaring the shit out of you. Boar tend to be blacker, and a lot less aggressive.
Honestly, feral pigs should be dealt with using a high capacity large caliber firearm. They are vicious and extremely destructive. Best defense outside excessive firepower is to get up a tree pronto.
I knew there were wild horses on the Outer Banks, but had never "herd" of them in VA. Apparently that is Grayson highlands (thanks Wikipedia). I am fond of horses, so a trip might be in order.....
As for the kid in Kalifornia, yeah, that was a travesty...

The blame can be spread (but only a little), I mean who the fuck allows their kid to have an pellet gun that looks like an AK-47 and walk down the street with it?
But mostly the current shoot first philosophy is the very real problem.

Well, I guess I don't really know then.
When I first saw them I thought it was 4 bears because they were very dark and huge--fucking huge. They did run away from me on their own, I only shouted after them when I quit sliding in my own shit. I rounded a bend and we were about 20 feet apart. I would not have seen them if one wouldn't have snorted and then all 4 stampeded off in the same direction. I was close enough and got a good enough look to see the big ol' boar (or pig) head and tusks but I didn't really know there were feral pigs (or I guess I thought they were one in the same)
