Philly traffic court has *always* been corrupt. If you wanted to get out of a ticket you simlply hired the right (read: connected) lawyer and padded his pocket a bit. Done deal.

I marveled at Philadelphia's unapologetic graft in the early 70s but somehow thought Frank Risso took it all with him.

Actually, I kinda miss the guy... he was a real over-the-top character and never lacked for surprises. Nowadays politicians are mushy, poll-watching wimps... he was a solid rock, like him or not.

Yes, several of my autos are more than capable of raising the hackles of the gendarmes, but I do try to keep it in check when they're afoot. That being said, three of them have seen their speedos pegged on more than one occasion.
My latest, however, has yet to make it out of the garage... a case of pitting in the cast-iron master cylinder... so it's off to White Post or Apple to get it sleeved in brass before I rebuild it.... that's the last step in the mini-restoration.
