The guerrillas wear civilian clothes and carry American pineapple grenades and pistol belts, probably Lend-Lease supplied to Soviet troops, as well as a more recent vintage Czech Sa vz 23/CZ 25 submachine gun.

Anti-Communist guerrillas permeated the Iron Curtain from 1944 until the mid-1960s. The most prominent conflict would be the Hungarian uprising in 1956, when Soviet tanks violently crushed the rebellion. Without transnational support, all these guerrillas were eventually suppressed.
