Bearforce-1 has reformed, and they want to represent Switzerland in 2015. This is their entry into Switzerland's qualifying preliminary. Hey, they aren't any worse than Céline Dion, who represented the country a few years back!

This song was chosen by BBC to represent the UK this year. Truly an impressive bit of cheese worthy of Eurovision!

That time of year we're once again reminded there isn't a better reason for master race sterilization, before it's too late.

Catchy, and cute.

But how does that, in any way, represent the UK?

An elevation of lowest-common-denominator, guaranteed-not-to-offend-anyone mediocrity.  Eurovision Time come 'round again.

American Idol is every bit as awful, and for all the same reasons; but this Eurovision crap has been going on for way longer.

Lithuania's entry. This is the performance at the finals that won them their spot. I can only describe this as CW Acid House. A pretty man and woman, bland song about love, and lots of flashing lights, with a heavy dose of Rise Like a Phoenix flames.

Edited to replace the broken link. GooTube is being assholy as usual.

I Googled the male singer; he's 27 years old.

The Baltic States are a bit behind the times after being part of the Soviet Empire. Also, the two of them are going for a squeaky clean look for their Eurovision run.  They manage to look innocent, yet most people would find one (or both) to fit their idea of what they consider fuckable.

There's no way the gray bearded guy is 27. I would guess 47 and take the over.

The Bearforce-1 graybeard is an almost elderly fart, and the group won't be representing Switzerland. The Swiss went for a bland female singer. The Lithuanian dude just looks old for his age. Vodka, meth, krocodile, who knows.

I could say the same thing about Australia's entry. Australia was invited as a guest this year, and chose to send a bland PC entry instead of really trying to win this thing.  Their entry is an ugly mixed race man who won Australian Idol in 2003 for PC reasons. The video is an unattractive compromise between Rap "keepin it real yalls" and pop treacle.

The entry from Latvia this year is a tragic mulatta, who has a Lavian/Russian mother, and a father from Burkina Faso. She considers herself to be a Latvian, though her alien, non-European appearance and performance style make it clear she can in no way be considered a Latvian. I suspect she and her mother were abandoned by her Africoon father, and the poor thing has been raised and socialized in a White society where she doesn't fit in. Latvia found out last year that cute Latvian boys singing folk music don't score at Eurovision, so they're trying the PC game this year.

Switzerland has also opted for a high yellow kneegress to represent it at Eurovision. This one is of Mauritanian origin, and for some bizarre reason she tries to give the impression she is Native American.

The entry from Belarus also features a tragic mullata. This one was abandoned by her race-mixing gamete donors when they moved to the sperm donor's homeland Mali, and was raised in Belarus by her White grandmother. The story in this video is rather interesting: an elf (White Man) struggles to free the demi-kneegress from a magical entrapment, and is betrayed for his efforts and heroism.

Belgium's entry is an exceptionally pasty wigger in subtle whiteface makeup.

This Belgian singer would be a much better choice.

One thing I especially like is the production of music videos for the competition. It reminds me of long ago, when MTV was about music and played music videos for much of the day. I haven't been to Europe in almost a decade now, so I don't know if MTV Europe still plays music videos instead of being a shitty wasteland like MTV in America.

Armenia and France both have entries that appear to reference the Armenian Genocide. Azerbaijan is pissed, and accusing both countries of politicizing the song contest. It remains to be seen if there will be fireworks in Vienna over this.

The title of the French entry means Don't Forget.

This was the entry video from the Netherlands. It's the perfect chick song; about a woman who appears to have a lot to offer, who wants a total piece of trash and has fantasies about him becoming a refined gentleman. Meanwhile, offstage and beyond her notice are a lot of good men who would love to be with her, but she'll never see this because of her obsession with the scumbag. I'm glad I'm not a young straight man who has to contend with this shit!

The song didn't translate well to the Eurovision stage, at least not in rehearsals.  I'm not going to post it if I find the final video, unless something went wrong during the performance.

Edit: I found the video. She looked stunning and turned in an outstanding vocal performance, but she was voted out. When sung live, the song comes across as an angry tirade because the woman can't have what she wants.

Several countries sent entries which are barely disguised comments on conditions in Europe. The Greek entry is about an impending divorce, sending the message that Greece is about ready to dump the Euro unless they get some financial help from the European Union. Romania's song is about children left behind when their parents go to wealthier European countries to work as cheap labor.

The song by Georgia's version of Elvira suggests the country is ready for war. The Guardian believes this year's Eurovision entries reveal a continent in crisis.

This year Poland decided not to go with tits and butter churning, and instead decided to play on the voting public's sympathy. The singer was the lead vocalist for a rock group, and became paralyzed after an auto accident. Her former band replaced her and let her go, and she has since made a solo career for herself.

This is the video the Czech Republic submitted for their entry. The song is about a couple facing separation because of the woman's terminal illness. Having lived this, I can relate to it as can millions of others. They didn't make it past the simi-finals, which is a shame, as several weaker acts made it.

The Montenegrins were among the few who sang in their own language. I actually liked this performance and am glad they made it to the final. I looked up a version that had the lyrics printed in English, and don't think this song would have sounded right in English.

The Spanish singer also sang in her own language. She's a beautiful girl with a great set of pipes, and she gives excellent video. I found her dialect interesting, as I'm not used to hearing Castilian Spanish. She sounds good in a live performance, but she doesn't project the fire and passion that she shows in the video.
