2014 was a bitch and a half, both for me personally and out in the larger world as well.  Let's get on to 2015 already.

Over all outside of a parade of deaths of our critters, it was a good year for us.  The summer was glorious, the best I have experienced in years.  I will for one look fondly back on 2014.

New Years is the best holiday because you can say "Happy New Year!" to damn near anyone without causing upset.

I live where we have those communal mailboxes. For some reason, mine's across the street and up a cul-de-sac.

So, I'm going to get my mail after work, and a woman I don't recognize is extracting her mail, and she sees me approaching and I can see in her face the onset of "a strange man is approaching me", so I say "Happy New Year!"

And all is well, and we agree that a recycling bin nest to the mailboxes would be great, and part company on good terms.
