I don't hate The Eagles, but I don't see (hear) any major contributions to music there.

The Eagles. Singlehandedly ruining the whole Classic Rock radio genre.

Evidently, you haven't ridden in an elevator in the past 30 years.

Oh, and Hotel California and The Long Road are astonishingly good albums.

I have to agree that Hotel California is a very good album and could be called a 70s musical watershed moment.  But no new ground broken, if you get my meaning.

But if I ever have to hear the title song even ONE more time in my life, I will probably either have a stroke or hammer-murder the nearest adjacent living thing.  There is, like, prolly an entire wrinkle in my brain wasted on that fucking song.

Hey, get back to me when Joe Walsh dies. Until then, fuck all dead Eagles.

From the New York Daily News: Glenn Frey’s death is sad, but the Eagles were a horrific band

I'm openly proud to say that I've never owned an Eagles album, nor one from Springsteen.

In his 7th decade and people are surprised he gone to join the Choir Eternal?

Good riddance. I hope it hurt.

The Big Lebowski secured rights for the song Dead Flowers (closing credits) when rights owner and Rolling Stones manager Allen Klein, who was asking $150,000 heard the line, "I hate the fuckin’ Eagles, man!''

Klein stood up and said, ‘That’s it, you can have the song!’

Already Gone was playing in the background during a defining point in my youth so I have some sentiment with that.  Outside that I lump the Eagle in with Jimmy Buffett.  Not something I would play intentionally, but not something I'd get up and walk across the room to change.  If I had a remote...

There are recording "artists" who'll clear a room faster than a speeding SBD fart and make me wish I liked to drink - America, The Cowsills, Donnie and Marie, John Denver, Julio Iglesias and Eric Crapton, to name only a few, but the Eagles easily top my list.

I got dragooned to cover a convention in Las Vegas 35 years ago (edit: Mar 1, 1985) and the event's obligatory entertainment was Marie Osmond.  I retreated to a nearby bar, along with my complimentary vinyl LP, and proceeded to drink, knowing full well I'm a notoriously cheap drunk. Before I realized what I was doing, I repurposed the record into a giant ashtray by passing it over the fishnetted candle at my table, while giggling my fool ass off. And who should walk in with her entourage and catch me in the act? Yup. True story. Sadly.

I suspect it's just hip to hate the Eagles.  I hated Don Felder, but the rest not at all, even Joe Walsh.

Anyway, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame scoreboard reads Eagles:1 - a lot of bands that you love that other people would also shit on: 0.

She's a Mormon!  She should NEVER have even gone to LV, much less gone into a bar!  Hussy.

I usually don't fall prey (or pray...heh) to people trying to push their religion but you sold me on it. Would you please be my sponsor and take me to meetings?
