Stoliar - an oil company executive who was the only survivor and said nothing about his ordeal for 58 years - dies at 91.

Where is Fnord when you need him to point out that the Jews used this tragedy as leverage against the British government to create their new "Homeland" in someone elses country. They could have come to America but refused.

Rubbish. Stoliar's account makes it plain no one has a monopoly on human assholiness, he wasn't naïve, and he was the only witness. Did Sto-liar push the First Mate off his flotsam to ensure his own survival, defined as who gets eaten and who gets to eat?
My own best guess is Stoliar suffered survivor's guilt and sensibly decided he didn't care to spend the rest of his life reliving the nightmare.
