It will be interesting to see if Obama can appoint someone that this Senate will confirm.  I would guess that the Ted Cruzes of the world would rather die than agree to any Obama  appointee.  Assuming that the Republicans follow tradition and do not filibuster a Supreme Court nominee, are there 4 Senate Republicans that will vote to approve a nominee?  This quandary may force Obama to pick someone much more conservative that he might prefer, or someone much older so that the Republicans might be convinced will die soon enough to warrant confirmation.

Meh.  The SuperPACs are destroying our Republic, it doesn't matter a whole lot who's the President.  The game's 100% rigged now instead of 51 - 75% rigged.  If we rose up as a voting nation and continually voted out every incumbent in Congress each election, they'd just pass a law making their terms 50 years or something.

As our real founding father Thomas Jefferson said, and not the one the Tea Baggers believe in, "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."   The tyrants are the uber wealthy and financial industries, the patriots are us, and we're all too fat and comfortable to do anything about it. So, hello Brave New World.
