If you lived in Europe then, you should at least remember the times...
The intensity of news coverage does not equal an actual uptick in attacks, but in coverage... Where was the anger at "Catholics" world wide for the bombings in the UK by the IRA in the early-late 70's? Funny, they must be the wrong color or wrong ethnic background.
This does not give any act of terrorism a pass card, but look at where we are being herded by the corporate media. Violence in the main worldwide has been declining since WW2. Yet, people are in greater fear of "terrorism" now than ever before. It is interesting that "terrorism" was originally used to designate acts by the state. It makes one wonder.

Violence in the world prior and up to WWII is all due to major economic powers going to war against each other. Now it's just small groups of pissed-off persons. Let's call Terrorists criminals, which is what they really are.
But, to your point, I do wonder if we're going to see all the ISPs, which are mostly media owned, start clamping down on free information and controlling the "truth". After all, "Who controls the past controls the future; who controls the present controls the past."

No real wonder IMLTHO.
What we are experiencing is directly caused by the excess of so-called "news outlets" all clamoring for relevance, hyping everything they can to help fill the 24 hour news churn they think everyone wants/needs.

Oh sure, blame it all on those hyperventilating bastards in Mass Media!

It's just that Europe has learned from the US that fear mongering and a constant state of emergency is the perfect environment to fast track the monolithic state.
Quick, can you tell me the current terror alert color? Without looking?

I was actually shocked that it's only Elevated. I guess we're getting to not be as knee-jerk as we were. Used to be any time there was an attack anywhere in the world, we went to DEFCON 4.
