Seems like they maybe they aren't as tough as they used to be.

Maybe it's because of all of the thank yous and free fast food support.

I climbed Longs 3 times. Once at 45 years old and once while I was younger but smoked ciggies. I am thinking this is one that Fled has done too but not sure.

Tough little peak but I have seen women in their mid-sixties on the summit.

Smoked a bowl on the summit of Mt. Sherman once.

Longs is a bit too iffy in places to get high up high.

But no, I didn't have a ciggie on top. I had several the night before and lots of booze. I hacked a lung for about the first 3 hours but I was 26 then.

Yes, I have climbed Long's, but just once.  It was in early August, and there was a lot of ice in spots after the keyhole that made it quite scary in spots.  I started from the parking lot around 2:00 am.  I did not have any altitude issues, but I learned a good lesson about letting myself get too cold.  It totally saps your energy.  Sort of like reefer.

I have had altitude sickness (HAPE) but that was at 20,000 feet.  It quite nearly killed me, but a week later I was back at it.
