So... can someone tell me the schedule? It seems like some days we're told the left is a bunch of ineffectual pantywaist crybabies, while on others they consist of waves of jackbooted thugs coming to confiscate our guns, attack and destroy all private business, and murder God-fearing grandmothers with Obamacare death panels while brainwashing the populace through their stranglehold on the media.
Just want to be able to mark my calendar to know when I should be afraid and when I should feel self-important.

Satire from the Borowitz Report
Trump Says He Has Been Treated Very Unfairly by People Who Wrote Constitution
By Andy Borowitz February 10, 2017
WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Hinting darkly that “there’s something going on,” Donald J. Trump complained on Friday that he has been treated “very unfairly” by the people who wrote the United States Constitution.
“If the Constitution prevented me from doing one or two things, I’d chalk that up to bad luck,” he said. “But when literally everything I want to do is magically a violation of the Constitution, that’s very unfair and bad treatment.”
Lashing out at the document’s authors, Trump said that “America is a great country, but we have maybe the worst constitution writers in the world.”
“Russia has much better constitution writers than we do,” he said. “I talked to Putin, and he said their constitution never gives him problems.”
“The situation is very unfair!” he added.
In an ominous warning, Trump said that, as of Friday, he was putting the writers of the U.S. Constitution “on notice.”
“I don’t have their names yet, but that’s something I’m looking into,” he said. “These jokers are not going to get away with this.”

Betsy DeVos Orders Immediate Flattening Of All School Globes
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Upon hearing of her extremely narrow Senate confirmation, newly confirmed Education Secretary Betsy DeVos issued an order that all globes being used in any American school are to be “flattened like God made it just 6,000 years ago.”

Look, I'm not a Clinton fan but for fucks sake it's hard enough to get old and ugly without people doing really bad photoshops and making your uglier.
We have to draw the line somewhere folks, photoshopping the over 70's is probably a good place to start.

Cthulhu forbid that I would defend his orangeness, but Abe gave him the driver ($3,755 US) a few months ago. It's the HT-02 Homna Driver and an entire set of Homna Irons cost $25,000. Strictly designer clubs for people who think things aren't any good unless they're way more expensive than everything else. Nobody on the PGA Tour plays these clubs and very few amateurs do either, obviously.

I have read this as well, but of course, he also cheats, which more than negates any pride he could take in his actual aptitude. Because nothing is quite enough on its own, but that it must be further exaggerated. Such is the hell which the Donald inhabits.

Every amateur not playing in an actual tournament cheats, and sometimes even then (mulligans). But he's a legitimate 4 handicap and he plays from the back tees. Like Em said, this can happen when you really don't have anything else to do but luxuriate. He used to play golf 5 - 7 days a week. Don't know about now since he's not a member of Congressional Country Club, and only plays "his" courses.

That may be so, but Donald's cheating is of a sufficient magnitude (and frequency) that many who have played with him choose to discuss it openly after the fact. So I suspect that his cheating is a bit more than the usual. And, of course, I'm equating it with his need to, for example, constantly harp on the fact that he would have won the popular vote if not for those dam cheaters -- a completely ridiculous and unnecessary fantasy which no one outside of Trump's skull buys into, and which, rather than boosting his status, actually steals attention away from his legitimate accomplishments.
The need to exaggerate already impressive victories describes Trump -- and his remarkably needy ego -- to a tee (pun intended).

I'm not saying I'd ever play the fucker for money, that's for sure. But that goes for every other bigwig who has lost touch with the real world. From the article above:
"To be sure, I’m still concerned about how the country will fare under the presidency of Donald Trump. But Steve Bannon has proved himself to be so monumentally incompetent that I am fairly certain the Republic is safer than I could have believed three weeks ago, at least from Bannon’s flailing efforts to maximize whatever supposed contradictions he believes he has identified."
I'm with the author here, George, and I have undergone a similar transformation. What started out as fear has morphed more into embarrassment as it seems likely we're to be subject to a four year clown show. The incompetence is staggering.

I didn't subscribe to the panic at the disco reaction mostly attributing it to the Left's outrage at themselves for being arrogant enough to try to force Hillary Clinton on the nation. The great Orange Weave (have you seen that shit recently?) will either be impeached by his own majority or die of a rapid and fatal medical condition. I'm betting on the latter.

I have a new prediction:
One year after the innaguration Der Trump will decide that he is now bored with the whole game, start playing golf 5 days a week and delegate everything to his cabinet and the RNC "leadership". Maybe a couple of well paid speaking engagements among his core base. That way he can go back to planning real estate deals and take credit for all the good stuff and blame anything bad on someone else. It worked for Obama.

Probably closer to the truth. The far left doesn't get people elected President, nor does the far right. Middle America elected a textbook classic narcissist because they couldn't take "business as usual" in DC anymore.

He's going to continue to stay on message to all the people who elected him. He doesn't give a shit about what the rest of us think about his nonsense. I like that line, “I think that President Obama’s behind it because his people are certainly behind it” (my emphasis). And by "his people" we know that's code for Liberals, Democrats, Blacks and Hispanics to his marching morons. You know, the people that are behind all of the ills of the uneducated white people. I guess eventually it will be Jews, Homosexuals, and Gypsies.

Yup; I agree with this. But those core supporters are way short of a working majority, so the real question is what Trump has to give up to get enough cooperation to get things done. We're still in the honeymoon, but there are a lot of potential fractures between Trump and the Republican establishment who are acting as his current prom date.
Alternately, Trump might actually find some Democratic support for some of his position (like infrastructure development). So Trump playing to his base has to done in such a fashion that it doesn't preclude others working with him, which means he's going to have to move toward the center if he wants to actually govern.
The speech tonight should be interesting. The open question is whether he's run into enough walls yet that he's begun to figure out that this is a totally different game from simply winning the election.

For serious this time: Thanks, Obama.
“He thinks, and I think, that this is something that threatens our democracy,” Mr Holder told the NY Times. “We have a system now where politicians are picking their voters, as opposed to voters making selections about who they want to represent them.”
Forget "travel bans" and "alternative facts" and the nepotism and Russia and all the rest of it--gerrymandering is THE issue that needs to be focused on. Otherwise the 2018 midterms will change nothing. Knowing that Obama is planning to work on this issue is a ray of bright sunshine in my dark fucking days.
