Old Flo is already being listed as a true bitch, panic links and actual stories go here.

I'm on a plane to Utah in the morning, I'll miss the entire thing most likely.

(I've heard you should pickle your children and pets for use as emergency rations)

Hello from Zone B (hint: knowyourzoneva.org)

The governor told A's to bug out and a surprising number did. Mostly elderly and caregivers.  Traffic was unusually good up to Williamsburg but there's construction in the area, so who's to say that wasn't the issue.

There's still premium gas if you want to fill up and there's food in the grocery stores, BUT NO WATER.  What the hell?  I have some five gallon buckets that I got laundry detergent in, I'll fill those for cleaning. I've a five gal. soy sauce bucket I can use for the potable stuff. And there's and another gallon in the toilet tanks around the house. I might even fill a bath tub, but I don't want to appear to panicky.

Other than that, I have a little bit of everything I need, but not enough of anything to survive on.

I am on vacation in western NC. My in laws have been freaking out all week, they think we are going to die... pretty sure will be min impact here as long as the mountain roads hold up.

I am supposed to drive to florida on Sunday, planning on going thru Atlanta.

Atlanta is pretty far inland.  Of course there'll be a hundred accidents on the loop around the city but, hey, it's Atlanta.

Sunday should be ok passing through Atlanta (on a normal day), I have noticed increased traffic out here. Seems like people are headed west in NC. There is a route that I have taken before that goes through Athens, slower but better than Atlanta on a weekday.

Looks we're going to get a miss here in Hampton Roads. Winds are just now kicking up, and no rain, yet. I have today and tomorrow off and its great because a lot of people left town and traffic is really light. I know I'm going to hear from my neighbors about how evacuating was a waste of time, but I needed the holiday.

My Mom lives in Chesapeake VA, backed right up to a marsh, but I'm not worried much about her any more.

My Dad lives near Beaufort, SC, about 10 feet above mean high tide, in a house surrounded by pine trees, on a barrier island. But that idiot won't leave and drive 6 hours to my house. He should have mostly offshore winds there, so hopefully no flooding but I told him if he is still taking cold showers in the dark a week from now, it's not my fault. He says he has 20 gallons of water and 20 gallons of gas and just tested the genny. Good luck old man.

Opinion poll: Which channel has the most extreme "on location" reports? There is something so charming about how the news outlets spend 15 minutes telling everyone to hunker down and then sends some cub reporter and the third string cameraman out to the end of a pier in the rain for a garbled report where all you hear is wind and all you see is water on the lens.
