You are correct!!! The LA Unified contract gives teachers a set amount of time after dismissal to file a rebuttal or retire. He has retired, taking home $4k p/month with full medical.
The good news is he will be charged for his upcoming incarcaration and we'll get the money back (sort of); of course he'll never live to see it anyway.

Well I still am amazed by how common this is in our schools. How did I miss this? I feel like a part of my youth was taken from me. Think of the fantasies run fully amok I could have entertained.
Not sure how to put it all in context, but at least there are some people out there who are offering career advancement for former pupils.
