They covered that back in the first Superman movie with Christopher Reeve. Supe looks around and there's no phone booth, just a kiosk like the one they removed. Finally runs down an alley and changes I think.

I still know where the red/blue/black boxes are. My favorite ones for party favors was the version that made the audible sound of a quarter dropping. Oh Ma Bell, she never changed her ways right up to the last gasp.
