I didn't find anything decent for under $10 plus shipping. Like I said, armpit-deep in cutesy-twee cuteness. Fuck that. Go to KMart or Dollar General or something. And get a dial-y one that doesn't need batteries--it's a bitch trying to set (and especially re-set) those fucking things.

The cats of Poblenou Cemetery in Barcelona.
Poblenou Cemetery is the epitome of cemeteries: gothic spires cap family crypts, weeping angels watch you at every turn, urns top just about everything. And then there are the cats. At least nine of them that I saw today as I wandered the grounds of the cemetery this afternoon. I couldn't tell if they were feral or not. They were, on the other hand, incredibly relaxed. While they avoided direct contact with me, they didn't run from me either. Clearly, they're used to people being around and the worst reception I got was from a mouthy Siamese who pulled himself up haughtily and wandered away, annoyed, and meowing his displeasure at the stupid biped who wouldn't leave him alone.
