Reminds me of when Wilbur L. Ross, Jr., Donald's Secretary of Commerce, said during the government shutdown that impacted workers should take out a loan rather than using food banks to cope with the loss of an income during the shutdown. He also said that the grocery stores should let people borrow food and they can pay it back later, because we're still living in the 1920s I suppose.
This isn't a political issue, but it needs a political solution. The workers still control the means of production but for how long? I read six years ago that automation could replace 30% of tasks in 60% of occupations in 20 years.
