"Ricco The Mean Machine" was just recently released on DVD by DarkSky Films. The film follows a young man (Ricco) who has been released from jail after two years. He returns home to find that his father has been killed and his girlfriend has now become property of the local drug kingpin. Ricco decides to reclaim his woman and avenge his father's murder.
I loved this movie for several reasons. This is a foreign film which has been dubbed in English. Sometimes a dubbed film can become annoying, but you just have to live with it when you are watching a 70's film that is in Italian. It actually wasn't that bad. There aren't many if any special effects and the fight scenes are horribly weak. They are almost comical due to the way they are filmed. Sometimes that is what makes a film like this great. A decent amount of action considering the low budget film category. Simply put this is a classic and I would recommend it to anyone who can appreciate a 1970's crime drama.

As much as I love shitty movies, and this thread, I have to agree.  There are already six sticky threads, which in my opinion is about one too many.*  I reckon we can keep this thread floating near the top, and/or make it resurface from time to time as Great Cinematic Finds are, uh, found.

*No, don't ask me which one I think should be unstuck; I can't pick.  If I had a candidate I woulda named it.

Peter Jacksons' first three films are tasteless and thoroughly entertaining.  Granted, the "bad" was intentional....

There is also this great one, with a truly classic line..."Your mother ate my dog!"  (note the Goatse-esque cover....)

True, I still haven't watched Lord of The Rings....though I did get all the special editions, etc. for the husband....Heavenly Creatures was just on cable today, boring.  The Frighteners is good, lots of bad jokes.  Bad Taste is also great, for the editing alone, not to mention Mr. Jackson wandering around flapping his scalp back on.
I wish he would go back to that genre...Princess Biscuit really needs to watch Meet The Feebles....

While this isn't horrible, it is cheesy.  The torture scene with Cloris Leachman
is a must-see.  It employs a technique, that, by todays standards would be considered "tit play" by some....The dialog is so cliche, it really makes for an entertaining piece of nuclear film-noir.  Another amusing plus, the credits run backwards .

While I have known about the Brothers Quay for quite awhile, I have never had an opportunity to see any of their work on the big screen.  These two are the love-children of Ray Harryhausen, David Lynch and Joel-Peter Witkin...

They also did the hospital scene from "Frida"  the drive shaft through her crotch is completely true to life....

Dead Alive/Braindead was the best Jackson movie of all time.

Personally I thought Meet the Feebles was without merit.

I saw this years ago; had forgotten all about it.

It is pretty much indescribable.  It is based very loosely on Evelyn Waugh's book of the same name, and is cast with deliriously familiar Hollywood faces.

It is now available on DVD.  I recommend it to the High-Street set.

I loved the book. I read it when I was probably around 20 or so - it was my first real experience with black humor and made me a lifelong admirer of Waugh.

Husband™, whose intellect is usually a source of great pride to me, is currently in the next room killing off brain cells with Open Water 2.  That's Open Water 2.  Gah.

We were tricked into watching the first one* due to its being an "indie" film and "sweeping" all the indie film festivals the year it came out.  I'm still mad about that.

*Plot synopsis:  A yuppie couple goes on a tropical vacation people like us can't afford, goes out to sea on a diving charter, gets left behind by the boat, and (this is 95% of the fucking movie) treads water for hours alternately crying, whining, and arguing over personal problems (I shit you not), at the end of which they die...

Malcolm McDowell!  Peter O'Toole!  Helen fucking Mirren, back when she was hot(ter than she is now)!

I saw it many, many years ago.  This thing was not just a train wreck; it was a circus train wreck.  On acid.  With titties.  And fisting.  The story behind the fiasco that was this movie would make a great movie.

You must have an itty-bitty screen if this topic runs to 8 pages.  My iMac (my beautiful beautiful 20" screen iMac) shows it at two pages.

And no, Cannibal Women has, up until now, been inexplicably overlooked.

OMG y'all, yesterday Postal arrived in our home courtesy of Netflix.

Of course it's bad.  When I wasn't laughing I was agape at how bad it is.

The best thing I can say about it is that whenever there's an opportunity to go low, Uwe Boll goes low and then burrows under low.  It's like the Official High-Street Movie.  Your mama would stroke out with outrage at the things that are said and done in this movie.

I recommend it as the high point of Boll's filmmaking efforts.

P.S.  I almost forgot:  Dave Foley does full frontal.  What other movie can say that?

Oh God, that movie was bad.  I saw it for free at one of those sneak preview things and I wanted my money back.  I spent the first half of the movie thinking, "the acting is terrible, the dialogue is abysmal, and I can't believe the director found a way to make random shots of water even more boring than normal, but at least there's the interesting thought that this really happened to somebody.

Then, the final kick to the groin:  they die.  Not only does it make for an unsatisfying end to a terrible movie, but it means you didn't just watch the story of what really happened to someone, you just sat through two hours of some stupid shit that some writer pulled out of their ass.
