I recognize the scum you describe as my own immediate family and the face I shave whenever I damn well feel like it. Or as the first born male on either side, that's how it was supposed to work. I was mutant spawn, though. Evicted from the nest at an early age, I've spent the last 40 years grubbing for the same chump change as my fellow proles and consequently, usually trusted by no one. It's a weird world to inhabit. I grew up with many of the assholes who rule us.
Had I known news writing was slated for extinction and rarely changes a fucking thing anyway, I might have tried to make a difference some other way.

News writing USED to make a difference -- in many small towns, it was the only writing of any credibility, subject to external review, regularly read by the general public.
However.
Nobody with power wants anyone else to be able to judge them on any level, by any criteria. As a direct result of money being able to cumulatively control enough means of communication, "journalism" has become the ether-soaked rag of those who profit from the ignorance of the general population.
Just sayin'. I can't throw stones at low-flying aircraft at this point.
It was good to see what's been happening here. I'm glad that even the people who made my ass itch and burn are able to publish (and punish) and spread word of whatever/whoever they want to, and have an audience that calls bullshit to provoke reasoned, if otherwise insane or entertaining, reponses.
