That's all well and good, but who can God trust?

Not these people.

Two things:

1)  Apparently they have no members young and able-bodied enough to carry the...float thingy, whatever you mackerel-snappers call them.  Did you notice how decrepit those poor fellows are?

2)  What gets me most is the shrieks of absolute horror--they've killed the Lord!!

The statue was of St. George, which means he will no longer protect this church from attacks by dragons.  Also, the statue was by an artist named Wistin Camilleri, who is a locally famous artist from Malta.  After paying their assessed share of child molestation damages, the church won’t be able to afford a comparable replacement.

Nahhh. It looks like they just took out Saint Somebodyorother, nothing that several thousand Our Fathers and Hail Marys won't take care of.

Hmmm?  wha?  hey i know you!

i love the horrified noise that the parishioners make when it falls.  it's a lot like the sound I imagine christians make if you prove to them that their god is a lie.

"Dropping God" is what we used to call doing acid. And it would make a good band name.
