Tonight featuring the first turn of an original Farewell to Kings matched with my first go at Absinthe. We also turned "Wish you were here" and I do wish you all were here to enjoy this ride.
(Didn't celebrate last night as I had a 6am pickup at the Boston Airport)

KMHD is non-commerical, 24 hour jazz station, affiliated with Oregon Public Broadcasting, and Mount Hood Community College. KMHD is the single best radio station I've come across in my life. And they stream their programs online.
Try sampling it at different times. Each host has their own program, and they are highly varied. Some of the programs leave me cold; others stop me in my tracks.

At Noon, Eastern Time on Saturdays (9:00 am Pacific) is Bom Dia (good morning!). Bom Dia offers two hours of Bossa Nova and Brazilian jazz, and it's how I start most of my Saturdays. If you are on line, open a tab, click the link above and check it out.

I saw these guys many years ago in person and I've been reminiscing. I miss Stephane Grappelli so very dearly. What a gentle man, yet a powerful musician.
Oh, and if you thought he was an amazing virtuoso on the violin, you haven't heard it all. Not. Even Close. Catch the bit about 35 minutes into this one where he sits own at the piano.... stunning.
BTW, the guy on guitar is the outstanding session guitarist, Bucky Pizzrelli. (yeah, John's dad).
(not sure why my embedded youtube link isn't showing up.)
edit: Because after 10 years, youtube broke bbcode's embedding function.
Till we fix it, you'll have to rely on youtube's share/embed dialog to cut and paste.

Alternate way to embed a YouTube clip; while the clip you want to embed is playing, put the cursor anywhere over the clip, right click, and select the third choice down (Copy Embed Code) and then PASTE it wherever you want.

I love Puddles! That was one of the best examples I've seen of how interchangeable four chord songs are.

Trying to age gracefully, without a lot success.
Whatever croaked J Geils wasn't poverty. I was caretaker on an estate next to his 30 years ago and that's where they found his remainders.

This came out during my college years. There are a couple of chapters of my life which played out with this as sound track, usually drifting in from another room.
