Absolutely. There should be a draft. Every American should be required to serve his/her country. Serve in the military, a conservation corps, feeding the homeless, in the corps of engineers, with a search/rescue unit, fire station or some other capacity. But if every American served their country, they'd be far more committed to making damn sure it kept going in the right direction, and we would not have voting debacles like we've had in the past.

Well, if the old saying is true (the less freedom people have the more they appreciate freedom) then maybe WhosaSailorMoonThen has a point. We should probably take away more of the people's money so they will be sure to back good fiscal policy.

If this means allowing states to regain complete control of their National Guard units, I'm all for it. Let's dissolve the DEA and the Army Corp of Engineers while we're at it.
