It's all pretty low-key -- no smashing kittens with sledgehammers -- but the class that pervades this entire story is what makes this place so special.

The "Croatian Club"?

I have always maintained that karaoke is of Satan.

That reads like it was written by a ten year old.

I found it quite a charming story, given that I am more than a thousand miles away from its source.

I am shocked. I read all the way to the bottom, but didn't find any mention of my wife's family. Yet I could swear that I have heard this exact story at least twice around the kitchen table.

Won't you tell it to us, please?

"That, the lawsuit says, prompted her to pour her beer on his head, and he responded by punching her in the face."

First, name calling doesn't give anyone the right to pour beer over someones head. If you poured beer on my head, I'd consider the fact that you could just be preparing to smash that beer glass to my face, feel my life was in danger and shoot you.

I think she deserved getting punched in the face. "prompted her to pour beer"... please, like she somehow isn't responsible for the beer pouring or going to an employees only section of the bar.

Good luck with the lawsuit, lady.

What else would you expect from a state that has a pop-up ad on their license plate?

You know the old one. Hanging at the (German | Polish | Slovak | Sportsman's | Irish | Veteran's) club, having a quiet beer when this bitch starts making trouble, words are exchanged, beer is splashed, cats are fought, police are called, arrest is resisted, downtown is visited, bail is paid, a different club is visited, a round is bought.

They are classy folks in Somerset County.

Ah yes, Somerset County. I work there several times per week. Full of coal mines, prisons and land fills. Beautiful and always 10 degrees colder than anywhere else in the state.
