Also, it seems that images are getting cropped when their width is too high.  Either allow for wider images or re-size them proportionately.

There are several skins/styles that manage that. Check the next link and tell us which one(s) you want.

Hokay, here is mine, pasted from another thread:

I do have ONE, hopefully minor, request:  Is there a way to make embedded links more visible?  They look just like normal text now, which makes them very easy to miss.  Just underlining would do.

And choad, I don't know what you were on about, but I see no underlines!  And I've become so interweb-hardened, tubgirl doesn't even cause a gag reflex any more!  (Although this:  http://demo.punres.org/?id=118 did make me cry for the Baby Jesus a little.)

GreenPun is NOT ugly.  It's soothing.

I chose it for practical reasons, because it has the least eye-catching look (for safer workplace perusing/posting).

In addition to edit timeouts I did propose limiting the quoting to the new material in any given post.

Please suggest a better name. It's where we post our front page links, and the repository of -all- our HSLOTD.

Note to my inner asshole: kick the other admins for failing to share the front page load and remind them that's really why cruel turned tits up.

Depends which way you wanna go with a "High-Street" theme. Since they're little more than recrafted, unrespondable portal links, you can call it "Back-Alley" or "Stems-n-Seeds." There ain't nothin' particularly 'local' about it. You could try something like this (and could be already, I've no idea what it looks like). There's a lot of blank space in the composition. As for the other admins, isn't there a way you can automate the content if it, say, got past 10-15 posts?

Can we get the user titles to show up under user names on the board?  It is nice to have fun and change people's titles, but like Ops has mentioned changing user names can screw people out of being able to log in to their account if they have dumped their sessions/cookies.

I don't see the point in fucking with titles if you can only see them when browsing the user list...

Title changes are harmless and a fun and easy way to annoy users when necessary.

Yes and no. I've gone back and forth on this subject for 20 years and the only real conclusion I've reached is automation looks butt ugly.

The simplest answer is this: The highest read numbers at Cruel - bar none - went to posts you never want anywhere the front page.

We want to suck visitors in slowly, not sending them away screaming.

This - I'm told - is exactly what happened to my own baby sister, who is crueler than all of you fuckers combined.

Sorry. One of her coworkers tells me she gravitated immediately to the picture thread and no, it had nothing to do with the front page. But I was surprised by her response.
