I don't know if it's a user here with a vendetta, a mysterious element in Putin's campaign against Ukraine, or just some bot, but for some reason the following banner recently attracted a large number of downvotes:
I reset this banner's downvotes to zero and will keep an eye out for any further shenanigans. There is rate-limiting that's in place to prevent ballot box stuffing - please don't try to circumvent this, thanks.

Putting the trappings of holiday cheer away so soon!
Isn't this all too respectable and socially well adjusted for Hight Street? Something more recalcitrant seems appropriate given the times. Shouldn't we wait till neglect has prompted the cat to lap up the last of the water out of the tree stand? Where underfoot the prickly brown needles get tromped into the shag, eventually we just avert our eyes as we scurry through the room avoiding it and the withered remains of tarnished decor and any uncomfortable memories the current crop of nettlesome holiday interactions with irretractable relatives and uncivil society at large has brought on.
