Whether I'm personally all right with one thing or another is probably immaterial. I didn't take her remark as antisemitic in the slightest, but was merely providing an analogy to her distaste for the degradation of women that also crops up a lot. I've been slowly sifting thru the current slate of banners as we await a possible upgrade to their maintenance page. In the meantime, I consider it more important to allow/display the banners from people who don't do as many as I do. Not counting Lurker, who can look forward to having any of his used again the day after he gets a personality transplant. I see no reason to reward his amateurish vandalism if he persists in treating everyone like crap.
Specific to the blackface and at least the most recent ones proffered by Fnord, these would not be my among my favorites, in either content or execution, but with the notable exception of Turkey, I'm trying to be diplomatic/democratic about the whole thing. Most people play nicer with the banners, so there hasn't yet been one where I really required a second opinion on [site-risking] obscenity or just poor design.

Well, I don't see 'em and I only block pop-ups. I've already mentioned that the site lacks a generic links page, and/or a better "About" section, but I would surmise these sorts of things just aren't a real priority. I'd like, for the sake of whoever forks that $11/mo over to Dreamhost to get something back for his or her petty cash drain, but we already use much of the digital real estate, where ads would go, for other stuff. A footer would be better than a subnav bar of text ads (which I've always rejected as misleading), then there's the matter of WHO would click on context-based ads and WHY. If they have no worth, then they just take up space. Which leads me to...

I don't recall seeing a recent traffic summary, not that having one would really change a whole lot about what I, specifically, do here. In order for ads to be profitable, there has to be a goodly number of visitors (logged in or not). I don't get the sense that we're quite there yet, but that's total guess based on visible activity. As for the PM function, I could've sworn there was some form of notification for PunBB, whether via pop-up or secondary email. Perhaps, it's been stripped like other basic forums features.

I just had a look through his banners that aren't set to display. Good call on the majority of those. Why is he up-loading so many that are either stretched or compacted way out of proportion? Oh, and, I just disabled an-other one his which you likely just missed (Not be-cause of the proportions - Simply be-cause it sucked).

I certainly haven't gotten thru all of them, and wasn't targeting his specifically, at least at first. Most of Lurker's are rather juvenile, but some have merit in their simplicity. Whether they mean something more to him is something no one here really cares to know. I suspect the stretching/compression was just part of his "learning curve," but then, he never seemed to learn.

Choad got rid of the ads ages ago. They weren't making much money, and the side banners are more fun. I think we made like $30.
Personally I like the reports from statcounter.com better than the dreamhost ones
