Banners fall under the heading of commercial art, not fine art, so the point is, do they stick in your mind. This one is meant to mess with the viewer’s subconscious. Look up the word jinn if it’s unfamiliar, then examine the end panels in isolation. I made them in the nineties while playing around with a fractal program. I found that using either of them as wallpaper freaked people out and kept them from messing with my computer. Learn to see the fnords.

I faded the transition from one tile to the next, and then had to blur the sky to smooth it out. I was too lazy to create any variation in the grass, so the repeating pattern is obvious there.

It simply struck me wrong. Again, this was not established as a democratic process. I've restored it, since it seemed so popular for the moment, but you can hardly say Taint is underrepresented. Most of his banners are automatically approved, and I really didn't feel it was as good as the rest. It was one of those "so untrue it's GOT to be funny" statements that really don't sing after they hit that first high note.
