I bought a decent monitor a few months ago, a first for me, and began to see what I was missing. I've spent the last couple weeks slogging through and correcting our 2,200 sidepic images before grabbing anymore. I'm less than a third of the way done and already cross eyed but I'll get there.
First thing I noticed is these things are not displaying in truly random, kismet, one-armed-bandit order. List proximity appears to have its thumb on the scale.

Humans are pretty good at seeing patterns, even where they don't exist. I added a line to the sidepic script to log which images get selected. In a month we should have some data to analyze (3 pics/set * 6 sets/hour * 24 hours/day * 30 days = 12,960 data points). Start boning up on your statistics!

Square, thanks for deleting those, it was about time. I know I told Choad I'd go through and replace them with something better but I haven't even had time to open Photoshop lately, much less make new banners. It IS a shame that no one here likes sax and violins anymore.....

Actually, just got back from sailing a Morgan 42 center cockpit along the Keys and doing a bit of snorkeling along the way. It was hot as hell, but at least I missed that massive storm a couple of weeks earlier. And the fireworks at Sombrero Beach on Marathon Key were very nice... bit of a windy night at the mooring, though.
