Re-org, they are first in line for the next piece of the tax-payer pie. This way they can fuck the bond and equity holders whilst getting an cash push from the tax payer for almost free.

The local news had a bit on them here. The one right around the corner is going out of business (just like the Linens 'n' Things and the Mervyn's) Apparently, the "liquidator" agent sets the prices, not the store anymore.
