Mixing bleach and ammonia would be more painful.  However, hydrogen sulfide is part of why farts smell and burn.  At least you stop smelling it at ~200ppm.

•    0.0047 ppm is the recognition threshold, the concentration at which 50% of humans can detect the characteristic odor of hydrogen sulfide [1], normally described as resembling "a rotten egg".
•    10-20 ppm is the borderline concentration for eye irritation.
•    50-100 ppm leads to eye damage.
•    At 150-250 ppm the olfactory nerve is paralyzed after a few inhalations, and the sense of smell disappears, often together with awareness of danger,
•    320-530 ppm leads to pulmonary edema with the possibility of death.
•    530-1000 ppm causes strong stimulation of the central nervous system and rapid breathing, leading to loss of breathing;
o    800 ppm is the lethal concentration for 50% of humans for 5 minutes exposure(LD50).
•    Concentrations over 1000 ppm cause immediate collapse with loss of breathing, even after inhalation of a single breath.

Oh, this is so last year. I must have killed myself at least three or four times with this before the novelty wore off and I found several zippier methods.

See, and I just thought they were all dying a slow death of a thousand cuts.

In the 60's you would always hear of one or two women who died/got very sick when they cleaned their basements with ammonia and bleach.  Finally, there was some kind of National campaign to let women know that breathing in fresh chlorine is not a very safe thing to do.

This is hydrogen sulfide poisoning.  When your fart smells like rotten eggs, that's hydrogen sulfide.  You can actually fart yourself to death.  (or not)  Huffing those farts is Good For You!  Hydrogen sulfide might kill us all!  NASA wants to use it to put men on Mars.

When I was a kid working in a pizza joint, I discovered just how bad a man's aim could be when he took a piss. Mopping the bathroom floors around the toilets at night with a bleach solution usually resulted in a noxious gas filled room.
