I wholeheartedly agree.  The Butterfly Effect was excruciating.  It wasn't even a downer, because it was so fucking out there, and not in a good way.  I actually started laughing at the whole child porn thing.  I know.  It's gotta be the only time I've laughed about children being raped...but it was just so ridiculous.  And when the lady walked out with a baby?  I fucking cracked up.  The funniest (and perhaps cruelest) part is that the writer of this stupid movie was probably thinking while he was writing this script, "...man, this is golden!  I'm going to get a fucking oscar!  Child porn, childhood murder, AND I'm talking scientific theories and shit!  Goodbye Ramen noodles, hello Kristal, pornstars and mountains of coke!"
