Given a choice betwixt "Girl In The Lift" and the completely un-necessary re-make of "The Taking Of Pelham, One, Two, Three," I'll "go with" the gratuitous Sado-Masochism every-time.

That truly is the "insult to injury" on this one.

What pisses me off is the ignorant, fucked-in-the-head (And, not in the "good way"), "studio-heads" who blame the internets and file-sharing for their short-sightedness.  Hey, self-righteous Fuck, did you ever consider that most of your movies might be losing money due to the fact that you lame-ass bastards can't seem to present the public with an original concept?  And, you're not fooling any-body.  We all realize full-well that there is no fucking difference at all betwixt a "re-make" and a "re-boot."

And, boy-cott Sony (The self-important Fucks who felt that it was their right to infect your OS with a root-kit).

Michael Lynton, CEO, Sony Pictures Entertainment wrote:

As a Marxist, I can still appreciate at least one facet of a Capitalist society:  My right to not support your fucking products*.

Post-Script:   * I be-seech you, Dionysus, please, do not let Sony obtain the rights to the "Arrested Development" script!

A quick Google search shows that the new Alien will be a prequel, not a remake.

Yes, I am aware.  But the idea still sucks.  And I figured I would help speed along JLP's psychosis.

How much do you want to bet that she doesn't make a "guest appearance" as her own mother, or some such excuse to get her in there?  I'm confident about so little of late; But, of this, I am certain.

They already DID a 'prequel.' "Alien vs. Predator." WTF is this?

Very imaginative name for the actress... Hanna Liska, which was undoubtedly supposed to be Hanna Liška, which translates in Czech to... Hanna Fox.

Indeed.

Did I mention that Clash of the Titans is being remade as well?  Except look for it to be more Gladiator II than Harry Hamlin.

Remakes/Sequels/Prequels/"Reboots" Currently In Development That I Have Heard About, And This Is Just Off The Top Of My Head:

Alien
The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3
Clash of the Titans
Barbarella
Heathers
The Wolf Man
Frankenstein*
Wall Street
Toy Story
Hamlet

That's not even counting the TV ripoffs, or the movies that are being made from kids' toys, like Stretch Armstrong, Monopoly and Where's Waldo.†

*This is actually a Gullermo del Toro production, which means it will be awesome and I will see it.

†I swear to God I did not make any of those up.

Alien vs. Predator is actually sort of orthogonal.  It was a comic book offshoot that was actually pretty decent.  The movies were just so-so, but that part of the franchise is really more suited to comic books and video games.  There's no depth to it, really.

You gotta be kidding me? Wall Street? How can they improve on that?

I mean, come on.

Wolfman and Frankenstein don't really count as they are classic monster movies that can be done over and over and not so much be remakes.  Throw Hamlet in as Shakespeare doesn't count either.

Toy Story isn't a remake, it is Toy Story 3 and I believe it centers around Andy going off to college.

Wall Street isn't a remake either, it is a sequel.  It is supposed to begin with Gecko being released from prison.
