Always liked that guy. Didn't always agree with him, but I think he's one of the last to actually have a heart. Same deal with Ronald Reagan, Tip O'Neill, Howard Baker... may not always agree, but at least their heart was in the right place (mostly) and they tried to negotiate and compromise.
Polarization is strangling us. And each of us is responsible for feeding it, every day.

I'm amazed at how many otherwise intelligent people buy into politics as a sport. The two party system has served well for a long time, but it's become a sham. Too many media-influenced idiots and unlimited campaign funding is a circus, not an elected government.

Mayhaps; But, how am I expected to refrain from pointing and laughing? Some-Body needs to provide my daily entertainment since "Better Off Ted" has been cancelled.

Yep... We're all laughing... as Rome burns.

One does not simply "break in-to laughter" as a Republic burns more than one is born a "cynic" (Cynic, realists . . . Who has time for "semantics"/dictionaries?). I wasted too much of my fucking youth pointing at the burning embers whilst being waved off as a "nutter". As I have likely not many years remaining at this point, I believe that the least that I am owed is a few fucking laughs . . . Oh, and a lap dance. It has been a long and tiring life and, for my services through-out, I require a lap dance. *
If you look a-round, man, I believe that that is the reason that most of us ended up on Cruel.com (A few "hang-overs" who "fucked" their Google search for local pastry shops a-side).
* My apologies. I do vaguely re-call having a "follow-through" for this monologue when I first placed that asterisk; But, having since wandered off for crackers and cheese, and relaxingly rubbing cat bellies, I seem to have fore-gotten what it was. Just in-sert an old "dick joke" from your youth at this point, and see if that works.

The Empire is decaying from within, and we can only hope the final collapse will happen after we're gone. In the meantime, why not try to laugh at the antics of the maggots eating the rotting corpse; it beats crying.
