The disease, which was first identified in 1989, can take decades to cause liver damage.
Just like drinking. How convenient.

A very good friend of mine got a liver transplant just two weeks ago. She spent a fair portion of her younger years playing with sharp objects. We were close friends even then, so maybe I should get tested. But then again. . . . why spoil the surprise?

If you banged her and/or shared needles with her, get tested! There's a good chance of clearing up the infection, and the liver can heal itself.

The Army gave me this shit and the VA cured me of it. A very long time of belly shots and chemo-like results.
