I am sure that voting helps, but it seems like ignorance is a steady state in this part of the universe. I still vote, though I am largely discouraged by it all. I vote because this guy votes. Someone has to counter people who can't even figure out spellcheck...

Near the end of his life George Carlin started advocating not voting at all since nothing useful ever gets done anyway. He died in 2008 and was spared this insane clown posse shit-show we've had since June 16, 2015. Once the Republican moral house of cards collapsed, they gave up any pretense of governing and serving and substituted ruling instead. As much as I don't want Donald to win, I even more so don't want the Marjorie Taylor Greenes or Lauren Boeberts or Ted Cruises of their party to win either. I'm still shocked they got rid of George Santos, I thought for sure he was going to be the poster-boy for the new shit-show. "Vote for Santos, why deal with the truth when an avalanche of lies will work as well."
I have some sympathy for centrist or progressive Republicans but they ain't getting a vote out of me unless they change parties. The plan is simple, replace all or most of the Republicans with Democrats, then replace most of the Democrats with more progressive Democrats. I only voted for Joe Biden because he wasn't Trump which, coincidentally, is why I'm voting for Harris. Although Harris is 18 years younger than Donald, so that's a bonus!

Well that's one way to put your thumb on the scales.
Every box in the county is equipped with a fire suppression device, which detects heat and coats the inside of the box with a dry chemical suppressant. This technology extinguished the flames without leaving too much damage.
Vancouver voters were not as lucky. Clark County Auditor Greg Kimsey says that while the county updated many of its ballot boxes this cycle with fire suppression devices, it “doesn’t appear it worked very well.” The targeted box was at 3510 SE 164th Ave. and was lit on fire and smoking.

They would be confused as hell if they actually knew that most Democrats consider themselves neither Left nor Liberal.

Given that they think Trump was a good president, they're already confused as hell.

Or worse since they just lap up whatever drivel oozes from his mouth. New study links brain network damage to increased religious fundamentalism

It really doesn't take a study to suggest that allowing others to think for you impedes your ability to think on your own.

Yeah but that gets more into beliefs which rid the person of ever having to think about that particular thing again. Pile up enough of them and you have a person that needs someone(s) to tell them everything so they don't need to.

If at last, someone provides you with a way to feel good about your destiny, many will take that as relief. And with that any further encroachment upon perceived reality can be held at bay. At least until physical realities becomes untenable.
