It has nothing to do with anything any of you people who simply believe every lie you are sold on MSNBC. Simply following the lead of folks like Olbermann and Rachel Maddow leaves all of you full of the same bullshit propaganda those people spew. This is a PRIME EXAMPLE of the fact that MSNBC is simply the propaganda arm of the left. Not a single one of you had any idea what the whole issue was about.

Sorry, sofa, but never in my life have I seen so many people spoon-fed the liberal talking points on "how to combat the tea party", without a single clue as to what they are talking about.

I was so confused, as everyone I know who knows anything about the parties said, "it's all about the crazy-ass spending" while the folks on here (and apparently the folks at MSNBC) are trying to paint a totally different picture (we call this, the Chewbacca defense).

I'm 1/2 surprised that nobody has come forward and said, "well I don't think the tea party people know what it is about because my liberal friends, and the good and true folks at MSNBC say...".

Never have so many been so easily mislead by the propaganda they so blindly follow. Yeah, I don't disagree that Fox news leans to the right but freakin' MSNBC might as well get paid by the DNC. They are so eager and quick to discredit the enemies of the left that it is sickening. No wonder they are rated higher on the propaganda scale than Al Jazeera (sp?).

On top of all that, Horse agrees with the easily mislead, as well. It is like a hat-trick for me. I got to make the Dem-Tools of High-Street, MSNBC and Horse all look the fool in one thread.

Note: Please don't take this the wrong way. I still love, adore and somewhat respect both Tojo and HKG. It is just politics. I'd still let HKG or Tojo sleep on my couch if they lost their jobs (and promise not to teabag).

This house is clear!

Ptah - many of those who attended the tea party think that they should not pay any taxes or that they should be able to tell the government how to spend taxes.  How do I know?  THEY WERE CARRYING SIGNS!  Despite what the tea party's organizers claim, these rallys have been promoted as anti-tax, anti-Obama, anti-socialiasm revolts.

Please.

You should follow the lead of your defeated peers and simply hide and avoid.

Hell, I even watched the local news about our local tea party and not ONCE did they mention anything about not paying taxes and they said it was all about GOVERNMENT SPENDING.

Sorry that you and your liberal friends have been sold a bunch of bull by your handlers in order to discredit what this is all about.

The only reason taxes are mentioned is because we will be paying for Obama 80 years from now, in our taxes. People are bitching about the SPENDING or their tax dollars, not about "we don't wanna pay taxes".

Again, I find it funny this thread was started by another person clueless as to what is going on, who rants about how "out of touch" the spending protesters are, when none of you even had a clue (i.e. "out of touch") with what it was all about.

Maybe if you actually read about the situation from the Tea Party Folk, themselves, and didn't just believe what your liberal friends and the good folks at MSNBC tell you, you'd have known. This has nothing to do with Republicans or Democrats. It has to do with people pissed off at all the bail-outs and the trillions of dollars being flushed down the drain (and borrowed from China). People are pissed off about SPENDING.

You obviously didn't pay a word of attention to what the speakers, at the tea party you went to, said. I'm not kidding when I say I have (at least) 10 friends who voted for Obama and are now pissed as hell and it is all about the spending.

Based on  your logic, should I go to some right-wing message boards and come back and try and argue that Obama is Islamic and wasn't born here?

Again, you'd be better off to follow the lead of the rest of your peoples when I prove them wrong (either disappear or post non-related porn).

Please notice I didn't call you any names and, just because we don't agree about socialism it doesn't mean I don't respect you as a person and respect your right to your views. I'm just equally passionate about my own.

Also, I recently visited your lovely city for a few days. It was my first stay (beyond just driving in for a concert and leaving) in about 6 years. I use to go all the time, like monthly. I didn't realize how bad I missed it. Even though the weather sucked, I got to enjoy your fine cuisine and hospitality. I swear to god, even though I walked my ass off, I gained 8 pounds. For me, it's all about the beef and Italian. Sorry to the east coasters, but nobody does pizza like Chicago (we've recently found a place that ships us fresh Chicago pizza, so that wasn't what I was there for, lol).

So, me proving virtually everyone on this thread (including you, as you hitched to the wrong horse), Keith Obermann and Rachel Maddow (man, I hate her with a passion, she is the liberal Ann Coulter) so totally wrong equates to me being "dumber"?

Did you read this thread, moron?

Tojo, HKG, and the two video clips from MSNBC all claim that the "tea party" thing is all about people not wanting to pay taxes.

I said, "no, it's about people pissed off about government spending".

Then Tojo came back and told me I was full of shit.

So, I posted a link to the tea party web page where they say, "it's all about being pissed off about government spending".

How much more simple can you get? I was right, and those people  (and you who piped in and said, "I agree with Tojo") were wrong.

Ok, smart guy. Prove me wrong. Prove that the Tea Party folk are all about not paying taxes?

Hell, Tojo even went as far as to say, before I proved him wrong, "Where do you get the idea that the tea parties are "about spending".". Then, right after that post, you gleefully proclaim yourself in full agreement with Tojo.

After that, I posted the link to the Tea Party Webpage (under the "ABOUT" tab) that spells out EXACTLY what the Tea Party is all about (which, is EXACTLY WHAT I SAID IT WAS ABOUT).

I mean, it is one thing for Tojo and HKG to misunderstand the situation (and I can understand why after seeing the Olbermann and other MSNBC vids) but it is something else for you to come on here, after I've proven my point beyond any doubt, and still claim I'm wrong.

Man, your "triumphant return" is the biggest case of tripping over your own feces you've ever done.

Hell, I salute you. It is rare that you come on a page and so quickly make both a fool of yourself and an ass, all in one thread.

And to think, once again, it was at the hands of Ptah that you are shown for the ignorant slut you really are.

Oh, and remember, here's the link: http://taxdayteaparty.com/about/

And, from that link, the relevant text:

The Tea Party protests, in their current form, began in early 2009 when Rick Santelli, the On Air Editor for CNBC, set out on a rant to expose the bankrupt liberal agenda of the White House Administration and Congress. Specifically, the flawed “Stimulus Bill” and pork filled budget.

During Rick’s rant (see video below), he called for a “Chicago tea Party” where advocates of the free-market system could join in a protest against out of control government spending.

Go ahead, mr word-gift. Prove me wrong. Prove that the tea parties are all about not wanting to pay taxes, as everyone on here proclaimed. Good luck with that.

If you can't do it, then, you just got owned (again) by Ptah. You should be use to it by now.

edit: I "get" that the joke, at the beginning of the thread is about people talking about "teabagging". After that, there was the post where Olbermann went into histrionics about something that has NOTHING to do with what the tea party is about. I then point out that I don't think people understand what the tea party is about and that is when I was told by Tojo, HKG (and you) that it was I that was wrong. I'm not arguing that the teabagging joke isn't funny, but it has nothing to do with me being right (in the first place) and you all (and the folks at MSNBC) being wrong.

Notice that I didn't have any argument UNTIL I pointed out that folks on here didn't get what was being protested. Do you understand that or must I further spell it out to you, moronovich? This has nothing to do with the fact that "hot teabagging action" is funny and kudos to that bitch I hate on MSNBC for her piece. However much I disagree and hate her, even I have to say "touche" and agree that it was funny. Although, she still is the Ann Coulter of the left.

Man, even though I went on and on about being right (I just like the visual of me as Kevin Spacey in American Beauty after buying his all-time favorite car), I really take no real orgasm from Tojo and HKG as I can understand where their misunderstanding comes from (as the left doesn't want to talk about the fact that people are pissed about spending and want to misdirect the whole movement). I don't blame them nor fault them nor think they are stupid for saying what they said. I can at least admit that I have a level of respect for both of them, even though we don't agree on political or economical issues. Hence, why I went on and on about being "right". If I could care less about what they thought, then the victory would be hollow. Like, for example, if it was just you and I arguing about it. You would have never seen the font size change or the "I rule" comments, as beating you is like beating a dead... well,  you know,  you've been beaten so badly over the years that your hide could be used for body armor.

But, man.. you really take the cake. Methinks thou golden love has tarnished into a lime-hued affliction.

I'm against paying taxes, especially when it comes to the federal income tax.  I view taxes as being nothing more than theft and the only reason I pay them is fear of retribution.  I'm not saying I want a free ride because I don't, I feel as if the answer to the problem is the toll system...  I don't give a shit about public schools because I don't have children, I don't ever use the public libraries because they're never opened at times when I can use them, public housing doesn't do me any good because I worked my fucking ass off, limited my spending and provided my own shelter.  I use the U.S. highway system a lot and I'm more than willing to pay for that privilege.  People like me (and there are a lot of them) don't want to fuck anyone over or limit their opportunities, they just want to live their life honestly and support themselves.  My main problem with the left is that they won't allow people the opportunity to live their own lives, they feel as if individuals are so ignorant that they don't know what is best for them and for society.  The Republican party has the same problem in that they are so arrogant as to think they know what moral choices are better for people than they know for themselves.  I am completely exhausted by this never ending line of self-appointed and democratically elected political and moral authority coming to me telling me what my priorities, morals and fiscal responsibility should be.  At this point in history the only way for me to no longer be responsible for the mistakes and poor choices of others is to join them and be a dreg of humanity myself.  I have my own priorities and they don't match up with the priorities put forward by the Democrats or the Republicans.  Does this mean I'm a fucking idiot and should just set my priorities aside and live according to their standards?  Fuck no, I hate both of their ideologies regardless of their intentions and choose to live my own life.  I can't think of the last politician who wasn't a condescending douche bag promoting their filth in an attempt to gain just a little more control based on the fears of their constituency.

I can't believe you, of all people are trying to make this argument.

I simply said, "you people don't understand what the whole Tea Party concept was about, it is about SPENDING not 'not paying taxes'".

To which, here was your reply:

Um... really?  Based on what?  I've seen over 100 photos of these events all across the country.  There is only one tenuous theme:  taxes.  Some think there shouldn't be any, some think theirs are being raised (statistically making 95% of that group complete morans), and the majority is a hodge podge of every possible gripe from gun control to fascism to immigration.  Where do you get the idea that the tea parties are "about spending".  At best you could say that spending is the primary cause of some of the people there.

So, I provide a reply linking you to their official website, saying EXACTLY what I said (their focus is on spending), and you come back with that I have to prove what is in the mind of each and every attendee of the Tea Parties or me, the organizers and everyone else involved are wrong and the focus is somehow something else?

Did I get that right?

By your logic, I can say that the focus of the Obama rallies of 2 years ago were to "Impeach Bush" because liberals brought signs saying so. Is that right? Same logic. Since the mindless liberals had signs saying something other than the intent of an Obama rally, then that is what the rally was really all about.

I get ya. Man you sure got me there.

Here, try this on for size. Here is the wiki-version of the tea party history. Show me ONCE where Ron Paul is mentioned. Just once:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_%22te … 2_protests

So, your claim is that you've personally seen all these people show up at Tea Parties (funny, I don't remember you mentioning, before, having attended said tea parties, only that you saw pictures from a friend at work, odd how  your story evolves) and, based on those people you saw at the tea parties, that, somehow, defines what they are all about.

Let us totally forget what the speakers on the stage say, because, from here on out, a rally is only about what some individuals in an audience think it is about, before they arrive.

Man, Tojo, really, umm... I don't even know what to say to this.

I do think it is funny that the "teabagging" is a total creation of MSNBC to discredit the Tea Parties. I guess I now see how Olbermann gets from Tea Party to "people supporting off-shore tax shelters", based on the Tojo train-of-thought.

So, man, I can't believe Obama held all those rallies, he was all about Jews being the same as Nazi's:

http://i350.photobucket.com/albums/q402/pcicala/CicalareportingatAnti-BushRally.jpg

-tojologic-Wow, all people who follow Obama think Nazi's are Jews... man.. Until you can prove to me that the majority of people who like Obama don't think Nazi's equal Jews, then this is the message I get from all Obama rallies, because I saw this picture of one.-/tojologic-

Also, not a single person I know who attended a Tea Party would say it was about anything other than spending. Not one single person (and I know quite a few people who attended).

When I told them of this discussion I'm having with you, most of them laughed and said, "what?".

Of course, when you get all your information on these things from MSNBC, who are intentionally misleading people about what the rallies are about, it is easy to see why you folks would be so confused.

So, lets see, where are we now? I've showed you were the Tea Party website tells you what they are about. I've lead you to the Wiki story, which fails to mention Ron Paul even once, that gives you the history of the Tea Parties. I'm sorry, but I am going to be unable to go to each and every person who attended and ask them what they thought it was about.

The friend of mine in Bloomington, a guy who holds no less than 4 degrees, attended their Tea Party with a bunch of PhD's. I sure can imagine them going around saying, "duh, demorats are stoooopid, lulz".

You guys keep thinking that, though. Your collective arrogance caused us to have 8 years of Bush Jr already this decade. Keep drinking the MSNBC kool-aid and spouting the Olbermann talk-points. Seems to be working well for you.

Tar, let me just give you a hint:  you've missed the entire point and made a complete ass of yourself in the process.  Thanks for listening.  YeeHee!

Your lame attempt at trolling me shows how far you've progressed to the glue factory.

You use to have some skill at this, but, alas, now you're just a sad shadow of your old self.

I find myself actually feeling sorry for you.

And to think, I threw a fit when they banned you.

I've got one for you, old boy. Go look at how many people have you on ignore vs me.

What does that tell you?

Ahh, I get it now.

The new, housebroken horse has decided to be "mr bandwagon" and go after anyone he thinks "won't get him banned".

Just who does or does not have me on ignore holds no value,  neither for me nor this (dare I say one-sided cuz I seem to be talking to a tree) discussion.  If you think that I'm trolling you, then taxes and tea-bagging and threadiquette aren't the only things that you need to bone up on.  The only troll here is you.  You are disrupting a perfectly interesting thread with your nonsense.  You are zeroing in on points that don't matter, creating arguments where none should exist, claiming to somehow have triumphed over someone else by espousing in bold.

The others on this thread, even those who tend to sympathize with your side of the aisle, are embarrassed for you.  What does that tell you, Tar?   I think it's time you took a step back and did a self-assessment.  Trying to be like moi and actually being like moi successfully are two entirely different things.  You have lost your way, son.  I wish I could say that I'm sorry I could not be here to act as your perfect foil.  Seems without moi around, you kind of disintegrate, huh?

Ban away, cabal!  I hold my arms open to the drenching storm of banishment in much the same way Tim Robbins did when he emerged from the sewer pipe in Shawshank.  (Sorry Tar, but since we're likening ourselves to specific movie moments, thought I'd join in).    (Oh and a technique you borrowed from me, I might add, derivative little cunt.)

Tar, you were a friend, tis true.  But I come back here and the first thing I see is you behaving like a complete ass.  It was like someone painted a target on you for moi.  Banisment shmanishment, I could care less, and your efforts to help me, though appreciated, pale next to the way you are behaving now.  I cannot in good conscience watch quietly while you make a fool of yourself, and then declare that you are proud of it.

Ok Ptah - how about this for a return to your teabag topic.  The Repulikans are trying to stir the masses because the tax rate is being returned to the rate that was set 15 years ago by George H.W. Bush.   Which is still a lower rate then the mighty republican god Ronald Reagan taxed us at.

Let me put it this way - Obama is taxing us at a lower rate than Reagan did.

Did you read the thread, Horse? I mean, from the start?

I didn't say word one until the Olbermann video popped up and I simply pointed out that what he was talking about had nothing to do with the Tea Party (which, umm, is what this thread is about).

To that I get all these people piping in telling me I didn't know what I was talking about. All the while, there is this debate going on about flat tax vs this tax vs that tax. All on a thread about the Tea Parties (or, more on point, about the humor at MSNBC's attempts to marginalize the Tea Parties).

So I point out, "umm, the Tea Party folk are protesting government spending". To which Tojo, HKG (and even you) all tell me how full of shit I am.

You following along, old boy?

So, yeah, I jumped up and down when I proved, beyond reproach, that I was right and you all were wrong.

Now you are ranting and raving and claiming I want to be like you (*shudder*) and I'm thinking, what the fuck is he talking about? Why would I want to be a complete social eunuch (well, I guess you'd be a eunuch by any definition) who's entire life revolves around internet acceptance.

And now you claim you oh-so-eagerly await banishment and whatever. Yeah, this coming from the same guy who provided us weeks of amusement by simply hinting there was a "secret chat room" where we all talked about you. Damn, how many times did you email me trying to find "the secret horse chat room".

Talk about sad, I almost feel bad for pointing all this out to you. The big difference between you and I is, I leave this board and I don't give thought one to what anyone is PM'ing about me behind my back. Not one thought. The other day, it was brought to my attention that someone on here was talking about me behind my back and, wow, what did I do? I reprimanded the person who said it for being a snitch.

Did I lose sleep over it? no... Did I email a bunch of people saying, "what did so-and-so say about me"? no

Don't ever compare the two of us, old hoss. I come here to stroke my own ego, laugh at some cool links and occasionally argue with Tojo (who, at least I have respect for) or some other liberal so as to vent any daily frustrations I might have.

You, on the other hand, might very well be the most obsessed message board whipping post I've ever seen.

So, hmm, you calling me a fool is like, well, I guess there is nothing to compare it to. Wait, I got it. It would be like Ron Paul calling Al Gore a failure at presidential bids (you being Ron Paul, of course).

Yeah, I get that this thread started about the joke MSNBC is making about Teabagging. So, I'll tell you for the last time, quit beating yourself.

I mean, damn, if I quit replying to you, who are you going to talk to, here?

Umm, I have no problems with the tax rate and, if you noticed, I didn't go to any Tea Party events, even though I had one 10 minutes from my house and and another, where friends attended 45 minutes away. (shit, they can triangulate my position!)

Honestly, I have no real gripe with Obama on any current tax proposals. Yeah, I can rant about his "not tax" promise and harp on an energy tax being a break of that promise, but truth be told, I'm ok with his taxing plans, SO FAR.

I do, however, agree with the Tea folks on the subject of spending (which, again, is what started the whole Tea Party thing in the first place, people pissed as hell at spending.

Here, read what USA Today had to say about the Tea Party goals:

Positions and goals

According to USA Today, most protesters have the overall goal of pressuring Congress and state governments to "reject government spending as a way out of the recession" and to "build an anti-spending coalition around regular taxpayers". Aside from spending by the Obama administration, the paper reports that the activists also oppose the spending the Bush administration set in place. Support for Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009 is also an issue raised in the Tea Parties.

Protest organizer and co-creator of DontGo Eric Odom has argued that "This is a protest that has been in government the last few years... Bush himself was guilty of socialist policies." He also said of the Republican Party that "It’s obvious they’re trying to ride on the brand that we created... It’s somewhat insulting." His group has turned down a request from Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele to speak at its Chicago protest. After the denial, the Republican National Committee released a statement saying that "They're just having a little fun."

Notice that people have been pissed about the spending going back to the Bush administration.

Again, you folks want to paint me as some Republican shrill but I didn't like Bush much better than Tojo did, except some of my reasons for loathing him were different.

Also, from Wiki (god I hate quoting Wiki):

he protesters are in opposition to various aspects of government spending, including the Homeowners Affordability and Stability Plan, the Troubled Assets Relief Program, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, and the Omnibus Appropriations Act of 2009.[4][5] The name "Tea Party" is an homage to the Boston Tea Party, and the protests have sought to evoke images, slogans, and themes from the American Revolution.[6]

Again, I have no problem with the current tax situation. It wasn't my intent to fuck up The Great Scotty vs ya'all Tax Debate of April, 2009. I simply couldn't, in good conscious, allow everyone to confuse that with what the Tea Parties were about. MSNBC, doing what they do (misdirect and confuse), would like everyone to think, well, what most people on here were thinking, that the Tea Parties were a bunch of "I don't wanna pay any taxes" kooks. While I'm sure the parties attract their fair share of said kooks, that isn't what they are about.

It reminds me of the black lady interviewed at an Obama rally who said she was excited about Obama being elected because she wouldn't have to pay her mortgage, car payment or insurance anymore!

Does this mean Obama stood for black people not having to pay for anything anymore? No.

(gee, Em, aren't you glad you invoked me again?)
