I read that story and came to the same conclusion. Obama is the Rodney Dangerfield of world politics. I doubt world leaders have had much respect for our last few presidents, but at least they feared them. Obama is like the kid who keeps getting pushed around by the bully. He makes a lot of noise about revenge, but nobody takes him seriously.

Obama has as much to do with these things as Shrub did, I wouldn't be surprised if Cheney were still pulling the strings (whilst getting a hummer from Pelosi). Our strategy appears to be working just fine, thank you very much, the islamists are so involved in internecine warfare at this point that they've forgotten that we even exist. In the meanwhile government continues to rattle the bones of terrorism over our heads so we will continue to happily fund the spy/war machine at unmentionable and unsustainable levels.
Increased mania and phobia about one side of the body politic versus the other simply strengthens their control of the situation, divided we fall indeed.
...and seriously - fucking a monkey? Perhaps we do deserve all of this.
