Choking each other until they pass out.
...in the bathroom.

They are the only one's who'll do it - I see a sad lack of patriotism in this country; college and career before serving the greater good. Of course everyone tries to make up for it later on by writing checks to charities and flying a flag after 9/11.
Liberals are the worst of the lot, going on about personal liberties but doing absolutely nothing to insure they continue to exist.

When somebody invades the US and tries to take my liberties away, I’ll choke some people in restrooms. Patriotism is just tribalism.

The only freedom I'm seeing protected is the freedom of the "defense contractor" lobby to earn their keep for their corporate masters.

The only thing I see those knuckleheads doing is something that was done to/by me in escape and evasion course when I took/instructed it.

Nah, patriotism is a socialist idea of sacrifice for the greater good, don't confuse that with nationalism.
On a strategic level history has taught that waiting until the enemy is setting your house on fire to learn how to defend yourself is a quick route to extinction as a people. A standing army and the accompanying strong, well-trained reserve is necessary and something every able-bodied citizen in good standing should be part of.
Contractor warfare is disgracefull, I'm disgusted by the fact that there are more contractors than troops in theater.

Why is it noble to wear one uniform while being paid to carry a gun and shoot people who were no threat to you before you showed up in their neighborhood with tanks, but disgraceful if you're wearing a slightly different uniform and cashing a check with a different signature on it?

Why?
One is arguably the worlds oldest [or at minimum second oldest] profession.
The other is a crime.

Meet the new boss; same as the old boss. These are backwards concepts that don’t benefit the greater good and will probably get us all killed. And when was the last time we didn’t have war to benefit defense contractors? 1861?

Extensive use of mercenaries however, has typically been an early sign of the decline of a great power.

Apparently we are too busy enjoying ourselves to look after ourselves.

That's a load of horseshit. The British empire never really became a decent sized empire until it employed mercenaries.
Utter nonsense, which while looking good on a bumper sticker or on a short blog entry, has no basis in fact.

In every conversation of this sort, orangeplus, there comes a point.
The point this time is asking you about your experience at being a Soldier [Marine, Sailor ].
Sorry Swabbies
