From what I can discern from a Portuguese article titled "Acupuntura Carioca" ("Acupuncture Rio De Janiero"),  the murder---36 knives driven into the body, but who's counting?---took place in a favela (shanty town) called Vila Vintem, in Rio de Janiero. A drug dealer named Celso Luis Rodrigues, who controlled the area and was known as "Celsinho of Vila Vintem," apparently ordered the hit as revenge for the murder of his brother two weeks previous to the execution.
