Once I figured out that the vast majority of restaraunts suck ass by comparison to my own fare my drunk driving days were over. I have a couple of decent pubs within walking distance and am not afraid to call a cab if I want to go out on the town (although cabs are a bitch to get in SoCal).
Other than that - drink homebrew at home.
