Publishing a book is a requirement in this country for becoming president.  Because she wants to be president, it follows that a book has to be in the works.  I have not been keeping up with her.

She could also be preparing to run for Senate--Ted Stevens is on the verge of being forced out, which would require a special election. In that case, too, this is an extraordinarily stupid way to go about it.

I am so sick of this already, I have barely anything to say, all of which would just be regurgitation from Facebarf. The stupid twat is mostly guilty of shooting herself in the foot, historically and often. When the McCain people tried to keep the red pumps out of her mouth, they did so with the expectation that she could translate her local manipulations into national water carrying for the GOP marginality. Dropping out of anything now was overdue as of the stroke of noon on January 20th.

I don't normally notice Anderson Cooper, but this conversation with a Palin staffer is way fun.  To quote the news site where I found it, "Oh it is wonderful, and only gets more hilarious and maddening as it goes on. The only people crazier than Sarah Palin are the people who are willing to work for her."

Actually, I think Anderson looked the idiot for not understanding - or appearing to not understand - the basketball analogy, even after it was explained to him.  Cripes, has he ever played or watched *any* sport?  It's pretty simple - if you can't make the goal, you hand off to someone who can - that's the whole theory behind 'team play'.

Now I'm not a Palin lover by *any* means, but if she is indeed spending a considerable amount of time fending off spurious challenges and it's affecting the business of Alaska, then it is right for her to step down and allow someone less controversial to take the ball.

Hokay, this is complicated:
1) Michael Jackson's death is a big deal mostly because a whole lot of people have been snickering at him for years, and now that he's dead they feel guilty so they're eulogizing the crap out of him to make themselves feel like better people; secondarily because believe it or not, outside of the U.S. he's still a huge frickin' deal, kind of like David Hasselhoff.

2) Billy Mays is gone because his mission here on Earth has been accomplished and the Authorities have called him home.  Don't ask me what his mission was or where "home" is, because they wouldn't tell me.

3) Anderson Cooper is pretending the whole solar system doesn't know he's gay because Anderson Cooper planned out his life back in his early teens, and has his entire timeline written out on a rather complicated calendar, and he's not scheduled to come out for another twelve years, four months and some few days.  When he does come out and no one is surprised, he will be astonished and a little hurt.

4) I can't help you on Sarah Palin.  She fascinates me because I have NO CLUE WHATSOFUCKINGEVER why she even IS, or why people pay attention.

5) High Streeters are different from run-of-the-mill type people mainly in that we do not suffer from minor daily annoyances which plague the rest of the world, for example, putting an even number of socks in the dryer and having an odd number come out and never finding the mate.  That has never happened to me, although I did once lose a shoe trying to cross a busy street. 

6) You will feel better if you eat a little ginger.  Ginger beer works best for me, but a ginger snap or some Chinese food will also work.  The important thing is to get a little ginger in ya.

...and apparently she's threatening defamation lawsuits against several newspapers for suggesting that her resignation may have something to do with embezzlement involving a $13M sports complex in Wasilla, which convinces me that that's exactly why she's resigned.

From my vantage point way over here across the Pacific, I'd say that Sarah is 1. The most hilarious thing to hit the airwaves in years, and 2. Self-absorbed to the point that she really doesn't care who or what she has to walk over to get what she wants. When I try to imagine what could possibly make her discard a state  governorship like a burned-out match..... I can't. Obviously something she thinks will get her something she wants, like power. If there's no major scandal about to hit, then the only means for her to gain another high office doesn't bear thinking about.
